About the role
Description
Do you want to shape the world of tomorrow and work on innovative projects? Then you're a good fit for us! We are a global engineering group with 15,000 employees and 140 locations worldwide. With our services, we are driving the topics of energy efficiency, climate protection and decarbonization and developing tech industries into new dimensions.
In the United States, the world of SEGULA Technologies Experts revolves around industries such as automotive, software, energy and life sciences. As an independent player, we support OEMs and suppliers with personal engineering services. Take advantage of new opportunities and take on exciting tasks and attractive positions with direct customer assignment.
As a Development and Validation Engineer, you will lead the bridge between design intent and physical performance. You are responsible for not only executing complex test protocols but also developing the procedures themselves. You will act as a primary technical lead during "triage" sessions, identifying the root causes of test failures and proposing engineering solutions to ensure product readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Procedure Development: Design and document advanced test procedures for automotive systems, ensuring alignment with both design requirements and general vehicle architecture.
Test Execution & Oversight: Lead the execution of validation programs across various platforms, ensuring data integrity and adherence to project timelines.
Data Acquisition & Instrumentation: Specify, configure, and utilize high-precision data collection equipment and sensors to capture critical performance metrics.
Failure Analysis & Triage: Lead technical "triage" efforts to analyze test failures; distinguish between test-setup errors and genuine product design defects.
Cross-Functional Project Management: Manage engineering projects from development through validation, coordinating technical milestones between OEMs and Tier 1/2 suppliers.
Quality & Manufacturing Alignment: Ensure all validation activities comply with typical automotive manufacturing standards and quality processes (e.g., IATF 16949).
All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
Other requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering (or a related technical discipline).
Industry Experience: 3–5 years of automotive experience in product engineering design and validation, specifically working within an OEM or Tier 1/2 supplier environment.
Systems Expertise: Thorough understanding of vehicle functions and how individual subsystems integrate into a general vehicle architecture.
Analytical Skills: Advanced problem-solving skills with a proven ability to perform root-cause analysis on complex mechanical or electrical failures.
Language Proficiency: Advanced English skills (90%+) for professional technical writing and cross-regional reporting.
Tool Fluency: Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office; experience with data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, GlyphWorks, or Vector tools) is preferred.
