Bilal Abdul Jalil

My time studying mechanical engineering at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) has lead to some incredible experiences through both academic and extracurricular work. During my academic years, I attained a wealth of new knowledge and skills. For example, I found myself passionate in project management and working within a team which is an extremely essential element to being a mechanical engineer. I started off working at the AUS Library as a student assistant for a whole academic year which built on my social interaction skills through engaging with faculty, staff and students, and assisting them on what they need. This job was an integral in accustoming me to the culture and environment of the university. Then, I was selected to be the Vice President of the Palestinian Cultural Club, giving me the opportunity to engage in activities such as events management and marketing. I was also the founder and president of the Adventures Club at AUS, that created events specific to outdoor activities and adventures, connecting between different student hobbies and interests. The role I am currently in is being the elected Vice President of the Student Council in AUS, where I get to be an empowered voice for the students. This position means a lot to me since I was elected from within around 5000 active students to represent the student body and excel the universities vision further. Lastly, I am an ambassador for Spikeball and Amazon Universities Esports, where I strive in becoming immersed in promoting the company products and services through social events and social Media.
