In my previous role as a Financial Intern, I played a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes. My key responsibilities included:
-Processing Financial Transactions: I was responsible for handling various financial transactions, such as invoices, receipts, purchase orders, and payment requests. My attention to detail and adherence to company policies ensured that all transactions were accurately processed and compliant with accounting standards.
-Maintaining Financial Records: I maintained meticulous financial records to guarantee their accuracy and up-to-date status. This involved tasks like maintaining ledger accounts, verifying the correctness of all recorded transactions in our financial system (e.g., BR), and conducting regular bank reconciliations.
-Tax Compliance: I took charge of preparing and submitting monthly VAT and Withholding tax returns, ensuring they were submitted on time and in accordance with tax regulations. I also assisted in preparing other tax-related documents to maintain compliance.
-Statutory Deductions: I handled the preparation of monthly statutory deductions, including employee benefits and statutory contributions, ensuring that all deductions were carried out in strict accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
-Budget and Forecast Support: I actively collaborated with the finance team to assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts. My role included providing valuable financial data and analysis to support informed decision-making within the organization.
