Develop a strong pipeline of investment opportunities in Southern Africa as well as build strong sourcing referral networks.
Conduct thorough technical, business, and market due diligence.
Work closely with the rest of the team to help in investment structuring, negotiation, documentation, and execution.
Provide value-added oversight of investments and management support, collection/monitoring of key performance indicators, technical analysis and strategy, business development and lead generation, introductions/connections, and fundraising support.
Foster relationships with global companies in appropriate markets to help facilitate value creation within the portfolio.
Manage relationships with peer investors, corporations, and banks for post-investment support, with a focus on preparation for and execution of company exits.
Represent wCap publicly at conferences, events, and working groups as needed.
Engage with policy experts, technical experts, and industry trade groups to proactively develop knowledge resources and thought leadership.

Conducting in-depth financial analysis and risk assessment for potential borrowers, evaluating creditworthiness, identifying risks (market, operational, and industry-related), and determining suitable loan terms and limits.
Demonstrated expertise in preparing precise credit proposals and recommendations for senior management, emphasizing key risks, mitigation strategies, and loan structures.
Proficient in ongoing credit monitoring, tracking essential financial metrics, and ensuring strict compliance, with a strong focus on financial analysis skills.

Client Coverage and Stakeholder Engagement
▪ Representing the Partners at all industry events or stakeholder meetings in their absence
▪ Taking the initiative to take a leadership role in deals to gain operational experience, build sector knowledge, and work with entrepreneurs/founders, other VCs, limited partners, industry executives, and other constituents in the Zambian Venture ecosystem.
▪ Identifying opportunities for partnerships: identify and assess potential strategic partners, including corporations, industry players, and other venture funds

Provide insights on strategic partnership trends that may impact the fund's investment decisions.

Conduct market research to assess the strategic relevance of potential partners.

Lead Associates and Analysts in day to day operations of the firm.

2. Deal Sourcing and Structuring
   ▪ Identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on potential portfolio companies, and negotiating and structuring deals.
   ▪ Conduct market research to assess market opportunities and evaluate potential investments based on financial projections and risk assessments.
   ▪ Collaborating closely with Partners and the CIO senior members of the team and will have the opportunity to grow into the partner level as a junior partner.
   ▪ Work with the investment team to structure optimal capital budgeting structures for prospective and existing portfolio companies.

3. Portfolio Management
   ▪
   Oversee areas of growth within the portfolio of investments and assist the CIO and Associates in resolving portfolio challenges.
   ▪
   Work closely with portfolio companies to identify and facilitate strategic partnership opportunities across the portfolio that enhance their growth and market positioning.

   Risk Management and Operations
   Assist with creating and implementing risk management strategies, policies and procedures for the overall portfolio to minimize exposure to market fluctuations and ensure compliance with relevant regulations

   Assist with Fund Administrative duties as and when required.
