His major responsibility was to support in the capacity building of Woreda level agricultural extension service providers for the establishment and strengthening of local institutions (cooperatives) for watershed development, management and use planning and implementation. Some of the specific tasks he performed include:
@Facilitate training of extension workers (DAs and woreda experts) in participatory watershed development, management and use planning, implementation, and monitoring.Guide, coach and backstop community and district level agricultural extension workers in establishment and registration of community watershed user’s cooperative.Facilitated the establishment and/or strengthening and legal registration of the community watersheds user cooperatives (CWUC), by fulfilling all requirements as per the proclamation. Support the CWUCs in business plan development and implementation for the GIZ local subsidies grant allocation for income generating activities.
@Provided coaching and trainings on potential watershed resources mapping, problems identification and prioritization, as well as feasible intervention options identification.Facilitated capacity building trainings for cooperative executive committee team on leadership, on business plan development, administration, and financial management.
