Project lead and mobilizer
April 2023 - May 2023
As the project lead at Taifa Teule Leadership Experience in Thika, Kenya, I have had the privilege of spearheading transformative initiatives that align with our mission to empower young leaders and drive community development. My role has been hands-on, requiring a balance of strategic planning, execution, and leadership to ensure our projects deliver tangible impact.
One of the most fulfilling projects I led was at Thika Primary School, where we organized a leadership and mentorship program aimed at nurturing confidence and values among young learners. We engaged them in interactive workshops that focused on personal development, leadership skills, and environmental awareness. Seeing the students light up with new ideas and perspectives was a powerful reminder of the importance of grassroots initiatives.
I also played a key role in coordinating a tree-planting exercise in Thika, bringing together young people, community leaders, and stakeholders to address environmental conservation. My responsibility included mobilizing resources, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the event was impactful and well-received by the community.
Beyond these projects, I’ve worked tirelessly to establish partnerships with local organizations, ensuring we have the support and networks to sustain our work. I’ve led my team in brainstorming and executing innovative ideas, ensuring that each initiative not only meets immediate needs but also aligns with long-term sustainable goals.
Being in this role has taught me the importance of collaboration, resilience, and staying focused on the bigger picture. It’s not just about managing projects—it’s about inspiring change and making a difference, one initiative at a time.
