Advocating for legal and policy changes that promote sustainable finance, such as incentives for green investments.
Reviewing and drafting contracts and other legal documents related to business transactions, service delivery(SLAs) and partnerships agreements for sustainable finance and financial inclusion and other types of financial instruments designed to promote sustainability.
Analysing and identifying the legal risks and implications of all the business’s transactions,
Keeping the executive and all business departments informed on developments in laws including data protection and regulations that potentially affect the business,
Support the Head of Legal in drafting strategic and operational guidance, aiding in the management of litigation issues such as contract disputes and product liability,
Reviewing and providing advice to the executive and business units on matters concerning applicable contracts required for operation of the business,
Instructing and assisting external legal partners, and where necessary identifying potential partners,
Develop and Manage data privacy policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, oversee data breach response, and providing guidance to the bank on data protection matters.
Drafting legal board reports,
Liaising with risk department to conduct company and individual background checks in accordance with AML laws,
Prepare documentation for company registration for credit bank’s subsidiary.
Manages the activities of the Credit Bank’s Pension scheme as a licensed Pension Scheme Trustee.

Prepare and or vet contracts as assigned from time to time in liaison with user departments.
Prepare contracts for service providers in liaison with the procurement department.
Receive and peruse security documents to confirm all the Banks interests are noted.
Coordinate with external consultants regarding legal audit and Risk surveys.
Assist in the management of contracts for Bancassurance,
Assisting in review of the existing documents and forms to rid them of ambiguity, loopholes and legal risks and ensure conformity with new laws and regulations,
Making follow up with the Bank’s external lawyers on conveyancing, recovery, and commercial litigation matters.

Perusal and confirmation of security documents before execution by the Bank. And attestation of documents duly executed by the bank,
Drafting of instruction letters to external advocates on conveyancing, recovery, and commercial litigation matters,
Effective coordination and monitoring of documents flow between Legal department and Credit Administration/other Units across the Bank,
Maintenance of proper updated records of legal related service providers and Bank contracts,
Forwarding the original security documents to custody unit for lodgment,
Providing necessary support to Head of Department in monitoring performance against SLAs,
Scanning of various legal documents for uploading on eDMS,
Receipt and distribution of mail to the rightful units,
Procuring Kenya Gazette Notices and new acts from the Government printers and attending auctions to record bids; and
Assisting in filing among other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department

Advise the group management on all legal matters and ensure that the interests of the organization were always protected.
Incorporating Companies as well as filling returns at the Companies registry.
Supervise the work of external lawyers to ensure that all matters are pursued professionally to conclusion.
Liaise with Senior Legal Officer in perfection of all the documents i.e., leases; contracts and ensure that all employees records were updated.
Preparing monthly and quarterly reports
Carrying out comprehensive research assignments from sampling, tool design, and field work analysis, to report compilation and presentation.
