About the role
Description
Localized · Remote (GMT−5 to GMT+3) · Full-Time
Localized is at the inflection point where AI stops being a feature and becomes the foundation. We’re looking for a Product Manager who can bridge the gap between complex AI capabilities and intuitive user experiences. You should be someone who is obsessed with the "Why" and "What"—using deep technical literacy to partner with engineers and turn LLM potential into scalable, high-impact products for users in emerging markets.
This is a high-ownership role. You’ll own the product vision for our AI initiatives, shaping how intelligence is integrated across our platform to solve real-world career and education challenges.
What You'll Do
Define the AI Vision & Roadmap: Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for AI features—from initial discovery and ideation through to launch and optimization.
- User-Centric Discovery: Conduct user research and analyze data to identify high-impact opportunities where AI can solve specific pain points for our global community.
- Strategic Prioritization: Balance technical feasibility, business goals, and user needs to prioritize a backlog that delivers maximum value.
- Technical Partnership: Work closely with a dedicated engineering team to translate product requirements into well-scoped technical specs, ensuring the team is building the right things the right way.
- AI Performance & Ethics: Define the quality bar for AI responses (accuracy, tone, and safety) and work with devs to optimize RAG pipelines and LLM interactions.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Design, Marketing, and Operations to ensure successful go-to-market execution and product adoption.
- Data-Driven Iteration: Define and track key success metrics (KPIs), using A/B testing and user feedback to continuously improve AI-driven workflows.
Market Intelligence: Stay at the forefront of the rapidly evolving AI landscape to identify new tools and models that can accelerate our product goals.
Technical Literacy (Our Stack)
While you won't be writing the code daily, you must be comfortable discussing architectural trade-offs within our modern stack:- AI / LLMs: OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), LangChain, Vector Databases, RAG pipelines.
- Modern Web: Vercel, Next.js, and TypeScript-based frontend/backend environments.
Backends: Node.js microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, and relational data modeling (MySQL).
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in a high-growth startup environment.
- Proven track record of shipping AI-powered products—you understand the nuances of prompt engineering, model latency, and non-deterministic UI/UX.
- Deep Technical Literacy: You have a background in software engineering or have worked extensively with TypeScript/Node.js teams. You can read a technical doc and hold your own in a conversation about API design.
- Analytical Mindset: You are comfortable with SQL and data visualization tools to extract insights and inform product decisions.
- Exceptional Communication: You can translate complex technical concepts into clear value propositions for stakeholders and users.
Product Taste: You have a high bar for quality and a deep empathy for users in diverse, emerging markets.
Bonus Points
- Prior experience in EdTech or Career Services platforms.
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks or building RAG-based systems.
Experience building for multilingual or localized platforms.
Location
Fully remote. We require overlap with GMT−5 to GMT+3 (East Coast US through Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East).
How to Apply
We want to understand how you think, not just what you've done. Please send the following to careers@localized.world:- Your CV, Localized or LinkedIn profile — A focused summary of relevant experience.
- A brief cover note — Tell us about an AI product or system you built — what it did, what tradeoffs you made, and what you'd do differently now. A few paragraphs is plenty.
- Work samples (optional but valued) — Links to shipped products, GitHub repos, architecture writeups, or technical blog posts. We want to see evidence of taste and judgment.
- A short Loom or async video (optional) — 3–5 minutes walking us through something you built. Not required, but it's often the most memorable part of an application.
