Role overview
We're seeking an exceptional commercial leader to drive our Vegetable Seeds Business Unit across a dynamic and diverse markets i.e. Africa Middle East (AME) including Pakistan. This role offers the opportunity to Shape the Future of Sustainable Agriculture, impact food security and agricultural innovation while leading a high-performing team toward ambitious growth targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Regional ownership: Set and execute the AME commercial strategy, translating global crop and portfolio priorities into differentiated, on‑the‑ground plans by market.
- GTM excellence: Design, assess, and adjust go‑to‑market and channel strategies to fit diverse customer and regulatory landscapes—keeping execution resilient through disruption.
- P&L accountability: Deliver revenue, portfolio performance, and contribution quality—making smart trade‑offs across markets, crops, and investments.
- One Syngenta delivery: Align with Marketing, R&D, Production & Supply, Finance, and Regulatory to ensure coherent portfolio execution and seamless launch-to-scale handoffs.
- Build the team you want to lead: Hire, develop, and empower a regional commercial organization—with clear roles, ambitious goals, and a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- External influence: Forge sustainable relationships with key industry partners and stakeholders to open markets and accelerate growth.
- Operate responsibly: Manage commercial and reputational risk while ensuring legal, regulatory, HSE, corporate security, and governance standards are met.
Location: Amman, Jordan (primary) or any country in AME&PK where Syngenta has a legal entity.

Other requirements
Critical Experience and Knowledge
- Qualification: University degree in agriculture, business, or related field.
- Leadership depth: Extensive senior experience in commercial/sales/marketing or business leadership with P&L and people leadership responsibility.
- Industry edge: Significant exposure to the seeds industry—ideally Vegetable Seeds—and the portfolio economics behind it.
- Regional fluency: Proven success leading multi‑country, multicultural organizations; strong grasp of customer structures and complex stakeholder environments.
- Sharp judgment: Strong commercial and financial acumen; data‑informed decision‑maker.
- Languages: Fluent English; Arabic and French are a plus.
