Samar BEN HASSINE

I am Samar BEN HASSINE from Tunisia, I am 34 years old, married and a mother of 2 children. I’m holding a National Diploma (or a Master of Science) in Architecture from the National School of Architecture and Urbanism of Tunis (ENAU). I have been practicing architecture for 9 years including 7 years as the director of my own architecture firm and I have worked on various civil building projects from design to completion as listed in my application. At the academic level, I’m a visiting professor at the Higher Institute of Arts and the Private Higher School of Engineering and Technology since 2016 teaching and sharing my knowledge with students in the fields of architecture, interior design, and civil engineering. I’m a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Architecture and Engineering Sciences of Tunis, and a member of the research team in “Spatial Analysis and Quality of Use”. since 2022. I have also been actively engaged in civil society through my involvement in various initiatives. I participated in the implementation of the accessibility assessment of the EL MANAR campus site, which hosted the World Social Forum in Tunisia in 2013. This effort was supported by the "Leadership and Empowerment for Action Disability" project led by HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL in partnership with the Tunisian Organization for the Defense of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Furthermore, I played a role in executing a communication plan aimed at engaging youth and rural women. This initiative aimed to increase awareness among women about electoral participation. Additionally, I moderated several discussion cafes for youth with the theme "Youth Participation in Elections," in collaboration with the Tunisian Youth Impact Association during the period of May 2019 to July 2019. Currently, I am an active member of the SOS Children's Village association and also hold the position of project manager for the SOS Village reconstruction project.
