With AU$100,000 funding from the Australian High Commission, GrowthAid implemented two projects in Yilo and Upper Manya Krobo Districts, focusing on gender and disabilityfriendly Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities for St. Peters Catholic Primary and Junior High Schools in Somanya, and Akateng D/APrimary and Junior High Schools in the Upper Manya Krobo District.
This initiative, part of the Manya Sani Projects, provided safe water to over 3,500 students and teachers. It included strategically placed water points and a state-of-the-art eight-seater toilet facility designed for gender and disability inclusivity. Additionally, two hand-washing facilities were attached to the toilet complex to promote good hygiene practices, contributing to the health and well-being of the educational communities.
