Dr. Gileard Minja holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from the University of Adelaide in South Australia; a Master's degree (MSc) in Natural Resources Assessment and Management from the University of Dar-es-salaam Tanzania (GPA.4.0) and a Bachelor of Education Science in Biology and Geography at the St. Augustine University of Tanzania (GPA 4.1). For the past 11 years, Dr. Gileard has been involved in teaching, research and consultancy. He has been lecturing in areas not limited to Environmental Education and Conservation Tourism and Environment, Natural Resources Management, Biogeography, Environmental Resources and Food Security, Geography of Marketing, Environmental Education and Conservation, Water Resources Management, Medical Geography, Regional Planning, Project Planning and Management, Research Methods, and Environmental Disaster Management. He has also supervised many undergraduate and postgraduate research projects including students from the Faculty of Education. Gileard’s main research interests are related to all aspects environmental education, biodiversity conservation, sustainable tourism management, natural resources management, decision-making, policy issues, tourism, and climate change. Other research interests include landscape tourism, Geo-tourism and GeoCities, Geoparks, sustainable tourism development strategies, water resources, mineral resources, and biodiversity conservation. He has published (and co-published) in academic peer-reviewed journals and presented/authored papers at local and international conferences.
