Hi, I'm Ganiyu Ode!
Project Manager at United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS)
I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®. I am also a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI). I also have a PRINCE 2 certification. I have a Master of Science in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom; a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom; and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Nigeria. I am presently a Facilities Management Officer with the United Nations Support Office in Somalia. I have held the position for three years; previously, I was a Project Manager with the Nigerian Communications Satellite, a company under the Nigerian Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy whose mission is to be Africa's leading satellite operator and service provider. Due to insurgencies, I have provided support services for international operations in post-conflict environments in the Northern parts of Nigeria. We provide ubiquitous high-speed broadband coverage over areas that terrestrial network operators cannot reach, even in the most remote parts of Nigeria and West Africa. We provide backup to ensure that the restfulness is mitigated and curtained. I have effectively contributed towards annual budget development and business plans, monitoring and reporting, and overall responsibility of the sections' administration. With two Master of Science degrees in Project Management and Procurement, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management, combined with over 15 years of project management experience, I know methodologies for project planning, execution, and evaluation of engineering compliance standards. I have actively participated in several successful projects. I understand the development theory underlying strategic planning, program/project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. I have demonstrated expertise and project management knowledge, particularly in facilities management and engineering. I have experience in the development, planning, and design of building projects, management of the facilities project, including monitoring of the effective term design and construction and consultant contracts, as well as management of other vendor service contracts and serve as a recognized professional expert and provide inputs and directions concerning large and complex projects. I have determined project costs by calculating labour, material, and related costs and analysing photographs, drawings, and maps to inform the direction of projects and the overall budget constraints. Leading and regularly convening a cross-organizational project management team to monitor implementation progress and synergies with related projects, ensuring appropriate representation from interested parties. Ensuring that projects are concluded as planned, fulfil the standards of quality expected, and remain within the allocated budget.
