As the Program Officer at Pearl Sun Rays, my primary responsibility is to lead the organization's efforts in enhancing education within off-grid communities in the Nkwanta South Municipality. I am tasked with the distribution of solar lamps to students, enabling them to study at home even without access to electricity. A key aspect of my role involves overseeing the installation of solar panels in junior high schools, ensuring a sustainable learning environment for students.

Assisted in shaping and enhancing the design and formulation of SPIS (Solar Photovoltaic Integrated Systems) policies and frameworks. Contributed to the preparation of regular progress reports, detailing project activities, achievements, challenges, and future plans Organized and participated in stakeholder engagements, meetings and workshops.

Conducting assessments and reviews of applications for various funding competitions, including the Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) - Zero Emission Generators (ZE-Gen) and Demonstrator, as well as the Zero Emission Generators (ZE-Gen) Accelerator Phase 1: Discover, and Energy Catalyst Round 10 in their early and mid-stages. Identified and selected high-impact initiatives that demonstrate the potential to significantly advance clean energy access and substantially contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and the Indo-Pacific regions.

Provided valuable support to the modeling team in developing the energy demand assessment of remote regions as an integral component of the last-mile electrification project in Ghana and Zambia. Conducted GIS analysis and mapping activities to support the project's objectives, including geospatial data collection, integration, and visualization, using advanced tools and software. Applied GIS techniques to analyze and model energy demand patterns, identifying context-relevant and disaggregated factors that influence clean energy planning in Ghana and Zambia.

Assisted in formulating and integrating cutting-edge renewable energy courses into the postgraduate curriculum. Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings and workshops.

Supported capacity-building efforts for energy auditing, ensuring the availability of qualified and certified professionals to assist public and private institutions, industrial, and commercial customers in adopting cost-effective energy savings measures.

Contributed to capacity-building initiatives for skilled workers in the SPIS sector, including installers, trainers, financial institution project development professionals, and users of SPIS.

Utilized modeling and simulation techniques using Homer, PVsyst, RETScreen, OnSSET, GEP, GIS, and CLEWS to examine energy systems, determined the viability of renewable energy projects, and create the best possible solutions. Led the monitoring and evaluation of project activities and outcomes, providing regular progress reports and ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Provided technical support and expertise to various teams within the center and external stakeholders working on renewable energy initiatives. This included assisting in data analysis, modeling software operation, and interpretation of simulation results. Engaged in research activities related to renewable energy, energy access, and sustainability. Conduct impact assessments of renewable energy projects to evaluate their environmental, economic, and social implications.

Assisted in the pilot implementation of an e-moped and cargo bike prototype in Ghana, evaluating technical and economic feasibility while considering local conditions and user requirements. Integrated life cycle assessment methodologies into energy modeling tools, providing valuable insights into the environmental sustainability of renewable energy projects.

Led a team of technicians in the assembly and installation of more than 1000 solar home systems and streetlights under the China-Ghana South Cooperation on Renewable Energy Technology Transfer Project (RETT) in collaboration with the University of Energy and Natural Resources. Performed maintenance on solar home systems and streetlights.

Engaged in training activities, hosting experts from China and conducting workshops to educate technicians, students, and staff on the installation and operation of solar street lights, inverter air conditioners, and solar home systems under the China-Ghana South Cooperation on Renewable Energy Technology Transfer Project (RETT) in collaboration with the University of Energy and Natural Resources.

In my role as an appointed Assessor by Innovate UK, in collaboration with the FCDO and BEIS, I assumed the principal responsibility of delivering comprehensive Assessment Services for project applications in the Energy Catalyst Round 10. Throughout this undertaking, I conducted evaluations of numerous projects situated at varying stages of development, encompassing Early stage (funding range: £50,000–£300,000), Mid Stage (funding range: £50,000–£1.5 million), and Late Stage (funding range: £50,000–£5 million). Identified and selected high-impact initiatives that exhibited the potential to significantly advance clean energy access and substantively contribute to the attainment of sustainable development goals in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and the Indo-Pacific regions.

Evaluated the electrical infrastructure to ensure it could support the solar system. Reviewed and analyzed data related to energy consumption, solar irradiance, and system performance to optimize the design and ensure the system met project requirements (e.g., energy production, project cost, project schedule) by using proprietary software.

Supervised several undergraduate students in their research projects.
