About the Team
The Operations team at Airwallex ensures the smooth and efficient functioning of our services and processes. We focus on optimizing workflows, improving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer support. What you’ll do
You will join the Airwallex Operations team during a critical period for the Americas business as we expand our footprint in Mexico. This is a great opportunity to join the team and help shape the next phase of Airwallex’s growth.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Strategy and Operations in the US, this person will be among the first hires in Mexico focused on Financial Operations, as part of a larger global Financial Operations (FinOps) team. The team aims to deliver operational excellence of our customer transaction lifecycle and manage our liquidity to support the company’s business growth across the globe. As a FinOps Analyst, you’ll work closely with counterparts within Operations but also with Commercial and Product teams to identify and remediate FinOps-related issues. A key focus for our hires in Mexico will include SPEI operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and enabling business continuity during contingency periods. This person will need to work a 9am-6PM shift.
This role is based in Mexico City.
Responsibilities:
Monitor the connection to the Interbank Electronic Payments System (SPEI)
Operate, analyze, and monitor the daily flow of MXN operations, as well as attend to outages by providing operational support
Engage with internal teams like engineering, legal, compliance, or customer support, as well as external parties (Banco de México, CNBV, auditors) for activities related to SPEI operation
Monitor global end-to-end client transaction lifecycle, handle inquiries, detect exceptions from data reports and dashboards in a timely manner, communicate with teams and other departments to handle issues
Monitor the clearing and settlement of client funds and global money pools; drive data oriented approaches to improve our liquidity management system, fund risk management and treasury efficiency and utilization
Maintain the team knowledge base and refine the standard operating procedures; find opportunity for operational optimization and process automation tooling
Build data-oriented performance metrics, quality assurance framework and tooling to monitor, detect, and remediate operational risk areas and control defects to minimize errors
Set up compliant, accurate and timely reporting data capabilities based on external regulatory and third party requirements
Who you are
We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Accounting, or a related field
2 years experience in banking, fintech, startups, digital, or financial sectors
1 years experience in SPEI operations
Strong understanding of electronic banking systems
Proven experience in automation and process optimization
Excellent data analysis skills for informed decision-making
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
Preferred qualifications:
Technical skill set of VBA, SQL, and visualization tools like Looker and Data Studio
