Job Summary
We are seeking a MES/OT Business Analyst to join our IT team and serve as a key consultant who bridges the gap between shop-floor automation (PLCs, SCADA, DCS) and business operations (MES, ERP). This critical role is integral to the FX/MFG4.0 solution portfolio, requiring deep expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Operational Technology (OT), and Supply Chain.
The successful candidate will leverage an engineering background and strong IT affinity to lead analysis, propose tailored digital solutions, and guide their implementation across Asia-Pacific plants to drive continuous operational excellence. This role blends the technical understanding of manufacturing systems with the business acumen to propose solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.

Core Responsibilities
The candidate will provide leadership and support for global solution design, implementation, and project execution from both a business process and digital solution perspective.
Lead key requirement workshops and translate business objectives into detailed functional specifications for new or changed system requirements.
Analyze business needs and define the logical solution, using existing functionality or specifying upgrades to MES/OT functionality to resolve business problems and support coding/configuration changes.
Contribute strong knowledge of Digital Transformation Initiatives and System Architecture design between ERP/MES/OT.
Propose integration strategies for data flow and decision-making by understanding and mapping connections between PLCs, SCADA/DCS systems, MES, and ERP.
Analyze how manufacturing processes work, from machine-level controls to enterprise systems, to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and integration gaps.
Translate technical capabilities into business value, building Return on Investment (ROI) cases for technology adoption, efficiency, and quality improvement.
Support digital transformation, Industry 4.0 initiatives, and smart manufacturing projects.
Leverage existing system's standard functionality to implement efficient and consistent global processes.
Conduct detailed analyses on data extracts, complete data mapping, and lead analysis for the conversion of existing legacy data.
Manage the execution of testing for assigned deliverables, lead regression testing for patches and upgrades, and manage defect resolution throughout the system development life cycle.
Monitor project dates, meet individual deliverables, manage a portfolio of projects end-to-end, and escalate issues.
Develop and deliver formal training and best-of-class procedures for end-users and operation analysts, focusing on process changes and new functionality.
Document business processes, work-flows, requirements, policies, practices, and procedures to meet company standards and user needs.
Required Qualifications and Experience
8+ years of experience working on manufacturing/IT projects in the SCM Manufacturing/MES area (consideration for candidates with 5+ years of experience).
Extensive knowledge of the Manufacturing domain, MES, and Advanced Production Scheduling (APS) digital solutions.
Familiarity with the global digital solution standardization & plant rollout model.
Experience with big MES/ERP projects in a similar-sized company is a strong plus.
Experience in manufacturing operations, production planning, or IT/OT integration projects.
Supply Chain Planning/Production Scheduling and manufacturing knowledge/background is essential.
Working knowledge of Supply Chain domains such as Order Management, Inventory, Warehouse, Shipping, Transportation, Work in Process, and Bills of Materials.
Strong creativity and troubleshooting skills required, with the ability to logically isolate and resolve complex problems.
Knowledge of MES functions (scheduling, traceability, quality management, OEE) and its integration with ERP (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Message Broker, Modbus, Siemens, Allen Bradley).
Very organized and structured in methodology and work habits.
Comfortable in both plant floor environments and boardroom discussions.
Working with Microsoft SQL servers and Oracle Environment .
Highly effective communication and listening skills, with strong proficiency in the English language. If a candidate is based in Malaysia, he should speak Mandarin Chinese in addition to English.
Ability to translate technical jargon into business language for various stakeholders.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently domestic and international.
Advantageous Experience
Experience with Oracle ERP (EBS/Fusion).
Knowledge of IoT (Internet of Things) digital solutions.
Basic understanding of PLC & Automation and SCADA systems.
Strong competence in developing presentations (Google Docs/Presentations is a plus).
Performed OnCall Support on OT systems.

Other requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or Advanced Degree).
A background in Engineering (Industrial, Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) is highly preferred given the OT/Manufacturing focus.
