Cryptocurrency is a digital currency that’s an alternative to the local cash you’re probably using daily. The best known crypto was introduced in 2009 - called Bitcoin. Unlike traditional money, crypto doesn’t stop at the border and unlike print money it’s created using Blockchain technology and isn’t actually backed by gold.
