Join us for a conversation about how machine learning is used in consumer products with Erica Greene, an engineering manager at Etsy.
Erica Greene is an Engineering Manager for Etsy focusing on machine learning systems for Etsy's ad platform. She specializes in production machine learning and data engineering, leading a team responsible for hundreds of millions of personalized ad impressions per day. Erica received her Masters’ in Machine Learning from USC in 2011, and has worked previously at the New York Times and Google. At the Times, she helped launch NYT Cooking a site, and led a team to develop Moderator, an ML based tool for comment moderation that was lauded by Popular Science as one of the Products of the Year. In addition to engineering, Erica works actively in tech policy, and in 2019 she was awarded an Aspen Tech Policy Fellowship examining the impact of large tech organizations and ML’s impact on democracy. Erica’s focus is on the continuing development of ML systems with rigorous offline testing and robust deployment combining the latest research with the specifics of production environments.
The event is hosted and moderated by SureStart, a free AI Bootcamp aiming to diversify the AI talent pipeline but all Localized members are welcome.
