Selcuk Uluagac

Dr. Selcuk Uluagac, Ph.D., is currently a member of the faculty in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida International University as an Eminent Scholar Chaired Associate Professor, where he directs the Cyber-Physical Systems Security Lab (CSL). Before FIU, he was a Senior Research Engineer at Georgia Institute of Technology and at Symantec. He holds a MS and PhD from Georgia Tech and an MS from Carnegie Mellon University. He is expert on security and privacy topics with hundreds of scientific/creative works in practical and applied aspects of these areas. In 2015, He received a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award from NSF, was awarded the US Air Force Office of Sponsored Research’s Summer Faculty Fellowship. In 2016, he received the Summer Faculty Fellowship from the University of Padova, Italy. His research has been funded by the numerous government agencies and industry, including the NSF, the DOE, Air Force Research Lab, Dept. of Labor, Cyber Florida, Trend Micro, and Cisco. He is very entrepreneurial and visionary with his research. Many of his research ideas have resulted in numerous patents with one licensed to a company recently. He is an active member of IEEE (senior grade), ACM, USENIX, and ASEE and a regular contributor to national panels and leading journals and conferences in the field. Dr. Uluagac has served on the program committees of top-tier security conferences such as IEEE Security & Privacy (“Oakland”), NDSS, ASIACCS, inter alia. He was the General Chair of ACM Conference on Security and Privacy in Wireless and Mobile Networks (ACM WiSec) in 2019. Currently, he serves on the editorial boards of IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, Elsevier Computer Networks Journal, and the IEEE Communications and Surveys and Tutorials (network security lead area editor).
