Dr. Taniya Mishra is Director of AI Research and Lead Speech Scientist at Affectiva. She leads a team of researchers who train deep learning models to estimate emotional or cognitive states from vision and voice. Taniya finds building AI systems that enable people to have natural, easy, and frustration-free experiences interacting with and through technology to be the most rewarding part of her work. Taniya is deeply passionate about increasing gender-diversity in AI. Her advice to new entrants to the field of AI and tech is to dream big, build skills and raise your hand!
