Sam Alemayehu is the co-founder of KivuBio Inc., Razzein Inc., Nexus Biotech Inc., and Dunia Holdings Inc., all created through C1 Ventures.

He's recognized as the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leader and Technology Pioneer.

Over the last 18 years, he has been a serial entrepreneur and investor, balancing both roles. Alemayehu founded his first venture-backed company, CornerMedia, in 2005 while still a student at Stanford University. After a successful exit, he returned to complete his degree at Stanford.

Upon finishing his studies, Alemayehu started another venture-backed company and then joined Venrock Ventures, a top-tier venture firm investing in technology and biotech companies. At Venrock, he worked with numerous technology and biotech companies rooted in advanced technology adopted from academia. Alemayehu went on to launch two companies, 4Afri and SenSante, which he had incubated at Venrock, and both were acquired in 2012.

After a brief stint investing in renewable energy, Alemayehu started Cambridge Industries, focusing on advancing energy transition globally. He has built some of the earliest decarbonization facilities in the world, targeting emerging markets, utilizing highly efficient renewable sites, advanced waste treatment, carbon and methane capture, and the utilization of C1 gases, with total funding exceeding $1.3B. The facilities he has built have been preferred partners for collaboration with universities to apply cutting-edge technologies for transforming traditional industries.

Alemayehu has been an active angel investor and has advised numerous entrepreneurs in tech.
