With 9 years of experience, I specialize in translating the concept of Creating Shared Value to strategically transform organizations. My work as a Chief Impact Officer within an investment holding company is focused on providing investment and financing to companies who are sustainable and impact-driven. Through my company Tidal Impact, I connect responsible investors who are looking to invest their money to create social and environmental positive impact, while also achieving a financial return on their investment. I then work closely with the companies we invest in to ensure they report on their environmental and social performance in addition to their financial performance. Prior to founding Tidal Impact, I was the Head of Sustainability Advisory Services at Sustainable Square; a Dubai-based leading consulting firm. Before that, I was the Regional Sustainability leader for Aramex, the first company in the Middle East to pioneer the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Reporting and later Integrated Reporting. I am also experienced in managing operations for nonprofit organizations by empowering local communities through corporate and citizen-led partnerships. I am certified in the Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology by Social Value UK, and in sustainability reporting by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). I received executive education in Sustainability Leadership from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and in Community Organizing by the Harvard Kennedy School. My Master’s degree was in Public Administration with a focus on Community Development and Nonprofit Management from the University of Delaware, and my Bachelor’s degree was in Management Information Systems from the University of Jordan.
